Nang Lucky Gogoi’s mission is to empower individuals—especially women and families—through guidance, access, and opportunity, helping them achieve self-sufficiency and lasting social and economic well-being.

Nang Lucky Gogoi is a prominent social activist, women’s rights advocate, and development-oriented leader from Assam, widely respected for her sustained engagement across grassroots initiatives, institutional governance, and policy-oriented platforms. Her work reflects a deep commitment to social justice, women’s dignity, and inclusive, women-led development.
She has a strong multidisciplinary academic background, having completed a Bachelor of Science from Gauhati University, an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Mizoram University, an MA in Public Administration from Apex Professional University, and an MA in Sociology from Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology, with her research focus on women empowerment, closely integrating academic insight with field-level experience.
Nang Lucky Gogoi has held several key public and institutional responsibilities. She has served as a Member of the Assam State Commission for Women, actively working on issues related to women’s rights, safety, and access to justice. She also served as Vice Chairperson of the State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council, contributing to social reform initiatives and preventive strategies against substance abuse.
Since 2016, she has been serving as a Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ATDC), contributing to policy discussions on tourism development, cultural promotion, and inclusive economic growth. She is also the elected Vice President of the District Industry Association, Sivasagar district, Assam, reflecting her strong engagement with MSME development, entrepreneurship promotion, and local industry support.
In addition, she is a Director of Mahabahu Agro Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd, an all-women, state-level cooperative society working to establish market linkages for products produced by women agricultural entrepreneurs. Through this platform, she actively supports women farmers and SHG members by facilitating value addition, branding, access to markets, and sustainable income opportunities.
A committed and award-winning social activist, Nang Lucky Gogoi has consistently worked for women empowerment, cooperative-led economic development, and community mobilisation. She strongly believes in women as producers, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers, and her work aligns closely with national priorities such as women-led development, Vocal for Local, and self-reliant India.
Known for her bold yet balanced public voice and institution-building approach, Nang Lucky Gogoi continues to contribute meaningfully to public discourse on governance, gender justice, and sustainable development, establishing herself as a respected and influential figure in Assam’s social, economic, and public life.

Nang Lucky Gogoi’s future plans are centred on deepening her commitment to women-led development, social justice, and inclusive economic growth. She aims to strengthen institutional mechanisms that support women, families, and marginalised communities, with a special focus on education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.
In the coming years, she plans to expand market linkages, value addition, and branding support for women agricultural entrepreneurs through cooperative and enterprise-based models, ensuring stable incomes and long-term economic security. She also intends to contribute more actively to policy advocacy and research-driven interventions, drawing from her ongoing doctoral research in sociology on women empowerment.
Nang Lucky Gogoi envisions playing a larger role in governance, tourism-led local development, and MSME promotion, particularly in rural and semi-urban Assam, while continuing her engagement in social reform initiatives related to women’s safety, de-addiction, and family well-being.
Her long-term vision is to help build a society where women are not merely beneficiaries of schemes, but leaders, producers, and decision-makers, contributing meaningfully to a self-reliant, equitable, and progressive Assam.
