A Vision for Youth Empowerment and Self-Reliant Assam
As an Assamese, I feel proud to see a clear and confident vision being placed before the people of our state. On 14 February 2026, while addressing the BJP’s Booth Vijay Sankalp Sabha at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati, in the presence of the Honourable Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi ji, Honourable Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma ji announced that if the government is returned to power for a third consecutive term, it will create 2 lakh government jobs and extend the Atmanirbhar Assam initiative to benefit 10 lakh youths across the state.
He made this announcement while speaking to party workers and supporters at the massive public gathering, outlining a roadmap focused on employment, entrepreneurship, and long-term development. His emphasis on turning youths into job creators through financial assistance and institutional support under Atmanirbhar Assam reflects a strong commitment to building a self-reliant and economically vibrant Assam.
The Chief Minister also spoke about continuing efforts to reclaim land from illegal encroachment and highlighted future connectivity possibilities, including seaplane services on the Brahmaputra—showing that the vision goes beyond jobs to infrastructure and overall progress.
Such announcements strengthen hope that Assam is moving toward a future of opportunity, self-reliance, and growth. As Assamese citizens, we look forward to seeing these commitments translate into real benefits for our youth and our state.
