Nang Lucky Gogoi is a prominent social activist, women’s rights advocate, and development-oriented leader from Assam, widely respected for her sustained engagement across grassroots initiatives, institutional governance, and policy-oriented platforms. She has a strong multidisciplinary academic background, having completed a Bachelor of Science from Gauhati University, an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Mizoram University, an MA in Public Administration from Apex Professional University, and an MA in Sociology from Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology, with her research focus on women empowerment, closely integrating academic insight with field-level experience.
Nang Lucky Gogoi has held several key public and institutional responsibilities. She has served as a Member of the Assam State Commission for Women, actively working on issues related to women’s rights, safety, and access to justice. She also served as Vice Chairperson of the State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council, contributing to social reform initiatives and preventive strategies against substance abuse.
Since 2016, she has been serving as a Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ATDC), contributing to policy discussions on tourism development, cultural promotion, and inclusive economic growth. She is also the elected Vice President of the District Industry Association, Sivasagar district, Assam, reflecting her strong engagement with MSME development, entrepreneurship promotion, and local industry support.
In addition, she is a Director of Mahabahu Agro Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd, an all-women, state-level cooperative society working to establish market linkages for products produced by women agricultural entrepreneurs. Through this platform, she actively supports women farmers and SHG members by facilitating value addition, branding, access to markets, and sustainable income opportunities.
